Freshman Honors Program 1976

Charles T. Moore (FHP; B.S., EE Virginia Tech, 1983) has moved to South Chester County, PA. His wife, (Donna, Va Tech, DVM '86) is working on a large equine Vet practice. They adopted 2 boys from Russia in 2000 (now ages 10 & 13). Charley has been contracting as an embedded software engineer. He is currently working for Motorola in Horsham, PA.

Monique D. (Boyle) Almy (Economics) graduated cum laude with her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1987.

Robert Pierson (Geophysics) hikes, lives and works in New Mexico with his wife Joann and sons, Mark and Thomas, who were born in 2004. He is still not sure what he is going to be "if he ever grows up." Robert changes his job title every couple years and is currently serving on the board of the New Mexico Optics Industry Association, Enchantment Chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering, and the Vegetarian Society of New Mexico.

Aimee C. Timmins (Music Education; Master of Music, University of Maryland) openned Aimee's WEB DESIGNS in 2004. Log on to a sample of her work at http://mvvetcenter.com. Elizabeth A. (Boelhouwer) Werner (Mechanical Engineering) received her MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Judi A. (Cannova) Fitzpatrick (Chemistry; M.B.A., Fairleigh Dickenson, 2000) has started a new job as a Sales Operations Manager for BP Lubricants USA.

Roseanne M. (Givler) Ford (Chemical Engineering; M.S. Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, UPenn, 1985; Ph.D. Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, UPenn, 1989) has a new half-time administrative appointment as Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies while continuing as Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Virginia.

Lorraine A. Jurman (Chemical Engineering; M.S., Northwestern University, 1986; Ph.D., University of Notre Dame, 1990) is still doing -"and loving on most days"- domestic engineering. She welcomed her newest "project" on May 27, 2004, John Michael Chalupa. She is now one of a family of five with Matthew (7), Catie (4), and husband, Rudy.

Jackie B. Walsh (Sociology; Masters in Journalism, University of Illinois, 1986; Masters in Education, Elms College, 2003) has quit her job as a reporter after 15 years at the Union News in Springfield, MA to become a preschool teacher. Her daughter, Molly, is 9 and son, Casey, is 7.

Frederick L. Cottrell III (Biology) is currently a Director with Richards, Layton & Finger located in Wilmington, Delaware.

Daniel C. Schlotterbeck (Accounting) has joined the Firm of Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH) as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Dan and Carol (UD '85) continue to live in Bloomingdale, NJ with their children Emily and Ethan.

Alison P. (Pratt) Spoonmore (Chemical Engineering) has three boys: Tom (12), Ryan (9), and J.P. (3). "All is well in Indianapolis!"

Jeffrey A. Vogel (Business Administration) is currently employed as an Office Manager for NJ Vision Associates located in Passaic, NJ.

Class of 1986

Lance Hill (Business Administration/Communication; J.D., Widener University School of Law, 1992) is attending the Drexel MBA Program part-time and expects to graduate late 2005/early 2006. He is currently employed full-time with Bumble Bee Seafoods as Vice President of Sales (National Accounts East). Lance also practices law part-time as partner in Wassmer and Hill in Doylestown, PA. He resides in Lansdale, PA with his wife, Janet, and their son, Craig.

Linda Hyde (Biological Sciences) married her husband, Christopher, in 2003. She
was granted tenure in spring of 2004, and got something even better in spring of 2005: baby Jonathan (8 lbs., 5 oz. and 21.5 inches long at birth).

John Michael Nahay (Chemical Engineering) says it is impossible to get a job, but states that he is still an active vegan for the animals. He is handicapped for life from rheumatoid arthritis and two artificial knees, but suggests you check out International Journal of Mathematics & Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2004, Issue 54, pp. 2867-2894 and Issue 58, pp. 3075-3102.

Karen (Freedman) Adler (Business Administration) lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Stuart and three sons, Aaron (13), Noah (11), and Jonah (8).

Class of 1988

Julie C. Bauerle (Medical Technology) just bought a new house and moved in November and also spent a week relaxing in St. Kitts. Julie still works for Johnson and Johnson, as she has for the past fifteen years.

Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore (Chemical Engineering) received her Master in Public Administration from University of Southern California in 1992 and her Ph.D. in Public Administration in 1994 from the same school.

James E. Lynch (Biology) started a new job as of October 2004 as a Biopharmaceutical Validation Engineer in the Biopharmaceutical Development Program of SAIC-Frederick (Science Applications International Corporation)- a contractor for the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland.

Michael T. Poff (Civil Engineering; M.S. Civil Engineering, UD, 1993) married wife Danielle in April of 1998. He now has two daughters; Mallory Rose, born April 4, 2001 and Victoria Suzanne, born December 29, 2004.

Janet E. Dunigan-Wilson (Communication) now has two beautiful boys.

Elizabeth E. Kaufmann (Wynosky) (English/Business/Technical Writing) Baby #3, Katie Elizabeth, was born 12/22/04. Elizabeth's two other boys are Matthew (age 9) and Jesse (age 6). She homeschools Matthew and Jesse and works as a freelance writer. She is an accredited LaLeche League Leader which enables her to provide support and information to mothers who choose to breastfeed.

Class of 1990

David G. Holmes (History; M.A. History, University of Wisconsin, 1994) now has two children; Elizabeth, born in 2000 and Sarah, born May 2004. David will receive his law degree from UPenn in May 2005, then will be working in corporate law in Wilmington. He currently lives in Newark with his wife, Laura (UD '90), and their two children.

Christopher L. Pickering (Business Administration) has started a new job working as the Product Marketing Manager for Eaton.

Erik S. Rubinson (Biology; M.D., Hahnemann University, 1994) is a long time partner in a large pediatric group practice in Montgomery County, MD. He was married to Ellen Spector in 1997 and they have two children; Ian (June, 2000) and Lauren (March, 2004).

Cynthia (Fico) Simpson (Psychology) has two sons, John Fagan and Peter. She currently leads the Human Resources function of an auto insurance company in Melville, New York.

Vera M. (Williams) Fields (Elementary Teacher Education) has two children; Kiah E. Fields II, (9) and Kiara N. Fields, (5). She owns a Christian bookstore in Woodbridge, VA, Noah's Ark Books, Music, and Cafe.

Dorothy E. McCoach (Economics and French; M.A. Secondary Education, Lehigh; M.A. Educational Psychology, Ph.D. University of Connecticut, Educational Psychology) is an assistant professor in the Measurement Evaluation & Assessment program in the Educational Psychology Department at the University of Connecticut.

Kelly L. (Simpson) Meyers (Elementary Teacher Education) has taken various graduate classes in different subject areas. She now has two children, Mackenzie Shea ('00) and Jack William ('03). She also belongs to various volunteer organizations including: Junior League of Monmouth County, Junior Board of Monmouth Museum and MOPS.

Anne Marie (Edenhofner) Tan (Economics/Political Science; M.A., University of Southern California, 1994) is now attending Pace University in NY for her Masters in Teaching degree.

Susan (Mathew) Gibbons (History; M.A. History, M.A. Library Science, Indiana University, 1995; M.B.A., University of Massachusetts, 2002) has two children- Michaela (4) and Aliya (1) and is currently Assistant Dean for River Campus Libraries at the University of Rochester.

Craig E. Goldstein (Biology; M.D. Internal Medicine, Jefferson Medical College) has been married almost seven years to Jennifer Price. They have two sons, Jake, 4 years, and Luke, 1 1/2 years. Craig is currently in a medical partnership at York Hospital.

Daniel V. Paone (Chemistry) was married to Hsinng-Chun Liu in 2002 and is expecting a baby in November 2005!

Wendy Lynn (Rise) Rios (Chemical Engineering) and her husband recently moved from CA to the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area with their two daughters, almost 4 and 6 years old. Wendy is the Founder of the "Adopt A Single Marine Program", and has continued to coordinate and grow the program over the past 3 years. She has been awarded with both the Founder's Medal and the DAR Medal of Honor from the Daughters of the American Revolution for this program and the impact that it has had. Wendy also currently works part-time as a Chemical Engineer.

Donna M. (Jackson) Robertson (Communications; Masters in Public Administration, American University, 1995) is married and has a three year old little boy. She works as a manger for INROADS/New York City, Inc. on Wall St.

Elaina C. (Cohen) Werner (Psychology; J.D., Duke University School of Law, 1995) was married to Jeff Werner on May 30, 2004 and they recently bought a house in Paoli, PA. Elaina is Senior Counsel of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in Wilmington, DE.

Fr. Michael Anthony DeAscanis (Civil Engineering; M.S. Civil Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, 1994) entered the seminary in 1998 to become a Catholic Priest. He trained for 2 years in Baltimore and for 5 years in Rome, Italy. Michael was ordained a priest on June 26, 2004 and will serve in a parish in Baltimore.

Lisa S. (Shore) Fogel (Biology) has received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University.

Nadine E. Resnick (Accounting) received her M.B.A. in 1999 from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Dan P. Rosencrown (Accounting; M.B.A. Finance Management, NYU Stern School of Business) Since August 2004, he has been working at Citi Cards North America (part of Citigroup credit cards) as V.P., Sr. Lead Analyst in Finance, focusing on Competitive Intelligence. His wife, his mom and he bought a house in Metuchen, NJ in 2004.

Chelsea Specht (Biology; Ph.D. Biology, New York University) After completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship
at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC (2004), she was recently offered a faculty position as Plant Evolutionary Biologist in the Plant and Microbial Biology department of the University of California, Berkeley. This fall, her husband (Patrick O'Grady) and she will be moving to California from Vermont (where he was Assistant Professor in Biology at UVM) with their 2 beautiful dogs Otto and Asa as well as the 9 chickens ("the girls") and 4 ducks that populate their small farm. They will both be taking positions as Assistant Professors in the School of Natural Resources at Berkeley. Wish them luck in finding housing with all the animals...

Michael Watson (Economics; M.A., Clemson, 1993; M.S., University of Georgia, 1999) was recently promoted from Senior Business Analyst to Director at the NYSE. He is living on Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan, where he recently purchased a coop apartment.

Stefanie C. (Levine) Wichansky (Accounting; MBA Columbia Business School, 2000) has two boys, Jake (5) and Corey (2).

Christine Bongiorno (Animal Science; D.V.M., Purdue University, 1998) is enjoying her job at a busy small animal hospital in NW New Jersey. She has 3 cats and 1 dog.

Mark A. Cress (Electrical Engineering; M.B.A., Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, 2001) got married to Amy Sabo on June 5, 2004.

Helen C. (Ellis) Dennis (Educational Studies; M.A. Education, UD, 2001) will receive her Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Educational Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation from UD this year. She is currently working as an Education Associate in Student Assessment at the Delaware State Department of Education.

Neil Evans (Chemical Engineering; M.D., Johns Hopkins University, 1998) is a Physician in Primary Care, Internal Medicine for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington D.C.

Rachel (Kuennen) Cosgrove (International Relations; M.A. International Communications, American University) got married in 1997 and now has two daughters; Bridget (3) and Caroline (5 months).

Edward P. Hu (Chemical Engineering; M.D., Washington University, 1999) is married and working as a physician at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

Andrea Stith (Physics; Ph.D., University of Virginia, 2001) has been in the DC area since she graduated from UVA in 2001. She worked at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for 2 years as a Program Officer for a couple fellowship programs and also did a one year fellowship as an AAAS Science Policy fellow at the National Science Foundation. Andrea is now at FASEB where she has been working on science policy issues for just over a year. In her spare time she is active with the National Board (as a councilor) of the Association of Women in Science (AWIS) and is also the President of the local Bethesda chapter of AWIS. She became an aunt this year, which has been "very exciting and a lot of fun!"

Wade Tinney (Spanish Literature; M.F.A Design and Technology, Parsons School of Design) founded a company in 2001 that creates downloadable computer games (http://www.largeanimal.com). He moved to NYC in 1997 to attend graduate school and is still enjoying the city more and more.

Robin Faith Towey (Business Administration; M.S. Interior Design, Drexel University) After working for the last five years for other firms doing Commercial, Institutional, Residential, and Retail design, she has started her own Interior Design firm. The name of the company is Room, and it is located in Philadelphia.

Charles and Cathy (Jones) Bergquist announce the birth of Paul Frederick Bergquist on September 27 at 1:04 am. He was 9 lbs. 3 oz and 22 inches long. They are all doing well! Greg is so proud to be a big brother and Mommy's helper. Paul is a happy guy as long as you feed him plenty and let him sleep.

Jennifer (Detrich) Jewson (Chemistry/Biochemistry; M.B.A., Villanova University, 2002) announces the birth of her son James Jewson, born on October 31, 2004.

Deborah L. Landis (Biology; University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, 2000) is working as a mixed animal practitioner at Londonderry Animal Hospital in Middletown, PA.

William K. Shaw Jr. (Food Science; M.S. Food Science, University of Massachusetts, 2001; Ph.D. Food Science, University of Massachusetts, 2004) defended his dissertation in November 2004 and started working at the USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service as a Microbiologist in Food Policy.

Michael S. Weaver (Computer and Information Science) recently returned from a three month sabbatical in Copehagen, Denmark and has resumed his position as adjunct researcher at TCW Computer Systems. He has also asked his girlfriend, Crystal, for her hand in marriage and they are still trying to pick a date!

Claims Department in Florham Park, NJ.

Sean P. Curran (Finance Marketing) received his M.B.A. from UD in 2001.

Duane S. Duke (Civil Engineering; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, 2003) recently got engaged to Elizabeth Webster whom he plans to marry in August of 2005.

Donald M. Dukes II (Biology; M.B.A., Wilmington College, 2002) got married in November 2003 and is building a new home in the Rehoboth Beach area. He has been employed as a Distributor Relations Specialist with Intervet, an animal health product company, since 2000.

Joshua B. Gruner (Political Science) received his J.D. from Hofstra Law School in 2000.

Brian T. Holmes (Chemistry; Ph.D. Chemistry, Clemson, 2002; Post Graduate Materials Science, University of Minnesota) is currently doing Post Graduate work with the Naval Research Labs in Washington D.C., Materials Synthesis and Processing with Chemistry Division 6123.

Kenneth W. Kozielski (Business Administration) announces the birth of his daughter Anna Paige Kozielski on December 28, 2002.

David Margalit (Finance/Operations Management; M.B.A., Harvard Business School, 2001) was appointed to head up the City of New York's workforce development and job training services. He is now helping businesses hire and train New Yorkers so that they have the labor required to create jobs and grow in the city. At the same time, they're positioning, preparing, and training New Yorkers to succeed in their job searches and careers.

Leanne Milway (English/Journalism & Communications) just wanted to drop you all a note and say
hello. She has been living and working in San Francisco for more than 5 years now. She is now making it in the advertising business -- current clients include HP, Sprint, and Freshpark Skate Ramps. She hopes you all are well!

Edith M. Myers-Arnold (Biology; Ph.D. Neuroscience, University of Pennsylvania, 2003) is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University School of Medicine and got married to Corey Arnold (UD '97) in April 2005.

Pamela G. (Erisman) Schonour (English) got married on October 23, 2004 and is now working as a buyer at Boscov's.

Mark S. Trochimowicz (Biology; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, 2001) opened a new Family Medicine practice in Mount Laurel, NJ in October of 2004.

Nancy E. (Meyer) Agnew (Mechanical Engineering) announces her marriage in 2000 to fellow UD Alum Kevin Agnew.

Katrina Edge (Psychology; J.D., University of Chicago Law School, 2002) started a new job as a Trademark Attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in January 2005.

Tracy L. (Riale) Earley (Biology) is currently attending UD for her M.B.A. and is set to graduate in May 2005. She was married on June 12, 2004 to James Earley also a UD alumnus (1999).

Erica Iacono (English Journalism) is now working as a reporter for PRWeek, a weekly trade magazine for the public relations industry.

Christine T. Kavanagh (Applied Music-Voice; M.M., Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory, 2003; Performance Diploma, Opera, Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory, 2004) has a contract with the Minnesota Opera and is also pursuing her second Masters at Hopkins.

Rebekah (Boulet) Kerstetter (Accounting; CPA, 2001) announces the birth of her first child, a baby girl, Ember Jewel, born November 28, 2004. Rebekah stays at home full time and her husband works at Rutgers University.

Jarrod B. Lippy (Biology; B.A. Human Biology, Logan College, 2001; Ph.D. Chiropractics, Logan College of Chiropractics, 2002) began a new chiropractic practice in September of 2003.

Amy (Fligiel) Mohn (Accounting) married Timothy Mohn (M.M.M., Pennsylvania State University, 2000) on November 15, 2004 on the beach in Key West, FL. Her dress was designed by Elisabeth Hasselbeck on ABC's "The View" and featured in In Touch Weekly magazine. Amy, a CPA, is an Accounting Manager for AT&T, and Tim, a CQA, is an Engineer for Johnson & Johnson.

Ayis T. Pyrros (Biology) is a Radiology resident at Northwestern University.

Louis P. Rotkowitz (Biology; M.D., St. Matthews University School of Medicine) has taken a small adjunct position as Assistnat Professor in the Physician Assistant Studies Program at Hofstra University.

Stephen E. Scarborough (Environmental Engineering) is working as a Research and Development Engineer at ILC Dover. In his spare time he is restoring a 1930s Center Hall colonial on the Nanticoke River.

Aaron S. Wallen (Psychology) received his M.A. in Psychology in January of 2002 from New York University.

Wendy H. (Mintzer) Algazi (Finance) got married in November of 2003.

Gregory J. Angermaier (Biology/History; D.C., New York Chiropractic School, 2003) is currently practicing in a multi-disciplinary practice on the South Shore of Long Island.

Danielle K. Cain (Biology; D.V.M., North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine, 2004) received a one year internship at a VCA emergency medicine and specialty hospital in San Diego.

Erin E. Cataldi (Biology; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, 2000) is getting ready to receive her third degree black belt.

Christina M. (Williams) Catalano (Plant Biology) was married in 2001 to James Catalano II.

Andrew Field (Electrical Engineering) is in his fifth year with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, in the Carderock Division. Andrew is also in the middle of graduate school for Engineering Management with GWU. He served as the 2004 President of the Rockville Jaycees, a local community service organization.

Jacy C. Ippolito (English/Psychology; Ed.M. Language and Literacy, Harvard Graduate School of Education, 2001) is now in his second year of a doctoral program back at Harvard Grad. School of Education and is also still working part-time teaching as a Reading Specialist in a local Cambridge K-8 school. Jacy got married this past summer to Victoria Treece on June 26, 2004. Luckily, they were able to spend the summer ("our honeymoon") living and traveling through Italy-"where we hope to return as often as funds will allow!"

Jillian Licata (Animal Science) will receive her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular
Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in August 2005 and will begin work as a medical writer with a healthcare communications firm.

Larry A. Masi (Biochemistry) received his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is currently a Resident in Psychiatry at UIC in Chicago.

Howard Padwa (History and Foreign Languages/Political Science) is currently living in Paris for the year and working towards a Ph.D. in History at UCLA.

Elizabeth S. Richardson (Biology/Liberal Studies) will graduate from Thomas Jefferson Medical School in June of 2005. She will be getting married on May 29, 2005 and was inducted into AOA in the Spring of 2004.

Stacy Berry (Biology) has left her position with DuPont Crop Protection to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Virginia. In addition, she recently got engaged to Jim Williams, also of Charlottesville, VA.

Haimavathi Bhat (Biology; Master of Public Health, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Public Health, 2003) is currently employed as a Cancer Epidemiologist for the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Michael J. Blum (Psychology; J.D., University of Pittsburgh School of Law, 2004) was recently hired as an Associate Attorney at Stevens and Johnson in Allentown, PA where he is specializing in Medical Malpractice Defense Law.

Christopher L. Elliott (Biology; M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction, 2003) is working and teaching at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ and has begun coursework for a Ph.D. program in Comparative International Education.

Brian L. Ewing (Music Education; M.M. Saxaphone Performance, Temple University, 2003) is teaching instrumental music in Philadelphia public schools.

Thomas A. Gorczynski (Political Science/Geography; M.A. Urban Affairs and Public Policy, UD, 2003) moved to the Baltimore area after graduate school and works as a Residence Life Coordinator at Towson University.

Alicia B. Korobij (Biology/Psychology) is currently attending the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia where she will receive her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2007.

Rebecca Lysik (Finance) is currently working in IT at SunGard Trading and Risk Systems in New York City.

Kristen L. Merrill (Management/Marketing) is currently attending nursing school in St. Louis, MO.

Amy L. (Kreisher) Moore (HRIM) has taken time off from her career to start a family. She has a 2 year old daughter and is expecting a baby boy in January 2005. Amy is considering going back to get her Masters in education.

Mario M. Nozzolillo (Biology) is currently working as the Practice Administrator at Mount Sinai Medical Center in the Pediatrics department.

Dianna (Mescher) Pell (Political Science; M.S. Public Administration, UD, 2003) was married to Michael Pell (UD '01) on June 12, 2004.

Vincent M. Pestritto (Biology/Psychology) will be graduating from Penn State Medical School as well as getting married in May 2005. He will be starting his Residency in the next couple of months.

Jill F. Reilly (Foreign Languages and Literatures; MLS, University of Maryland, 2004; M.A. American History, University of Maryland, 2004) joined the staff at the National Archives and Records Administration in June 2004 as an Archives Specialist.

Kira L. (Austin) Sanborn (HRIM) got married on June 5, 2005 to Daniel Sanborn, 2000 Biochem major. She transferred from Grand Hyatt Washington to Hyatt Regency Boston.

Jordan Augenstein (Finance) writes that he is now in California and "in love".

Timothy G. Burroughs Jr. (Civil Engineering) is nearing the end of his 27 month service in the Peace Corps. in Mali, Africa. In May he intends to spend three months in Egypt before returning to the U.S.A.

Margaret E. Carl (Animal Science) is currently working on her DVM at the College of Veterinary Medicine and also her MPH at the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota. She is a Second Lieutenant in the Health Professions Scholarship Program provided by the U.S. Army, which has provided her with a scholarship for veterinary school.

Jason E. Carlie (Accounting) was an accountant with PricwaterhouseCoopers LLP, specializing in the capital markets for two years. He is now pursuing a Juris Doctor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Certificate of Business and Public Policy at the Wharton School of Business. Jason's career goal is to become an entertainment lawyer.

Stacey L. Carlough (English/Journalism) is moving to Philadelphia in June, 2005 where she will be attending the University of Pennsylvania starting in July, in order to receive her M.S. Ed. in Secondary English Education.

Amy L. Conver (History/Journalism) graduated from the NYU Graduate Publishing Institute in July 2004. She then accepted a copyediting position with Facts on File, Inc., publishers of a broad scope of books, located in New York City.

Kristine S. Ewing (Elementary Education; M.A. School Psychology, UD, 2003) will receive Specialist level certification in School Psychology from UD in May 2005. She announces that she got engaged October 2004 to Ron Peters Jr. and they are planning to marry on July 23, 2005.

Julie E. Goodwin (English) will graduate from the University of Maryland School of Law in May 2005.

Deborah E. (Craft) Guarneri (Athletic Training) was married on May 22, 2004. Also in 2004, on August 24, she received a kidney transplant.

John P. Hanna (Biology/Liberal Arts) is now a third year medical student at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Evangelia J. Karmokolias (Biology) has received her Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, New Orleans.

Lisa M. Kort (Biology) is currently earning her Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant at NYIT.

Mackenzie A. Mady (Nutritional Science) is currently a second-year med student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Elizabeth C. McCabe (English; M.S. English, Northwestern University, 2004) is living in Chicago and working towards a Ph.D. in English at Northwestern. She is specializing in Victorian fiction.

Natalie J. Miller (Animal Science) is attending University of Pennsylvania combined degree program (VMD/PhD) in veterinary classes and working towards a PhD in Parasitology.

Allison Olszewski (Biochemistry) is now in her third year of graduate school at the University of California, Irvine. Her current research concerning HIV protein inhibitors was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences this past fall. Allison expects to receive a Ph.D. in organic chemistry in June 2006, which will be closely followed by a "triumphant return to the East Coast."

Molly L. Palmer (International Relations; M.A. Spanish, UD, 2005) is teaching Spanish at Rutgers University and applying for Ph.D. programs for the Fall.

Rodney W. Rivera, Jr. (Education; M.S. Information Systems and Technology Management, UD, 2004) has recently bought a house in the Newark, DE area.

Rebecca L. Schorn (Liberal Studies/Biology; B.S. Nursing, UD, 2004) works as a Nurse at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She is also a volunteer and mentor at the Delaware Youth for Christ on Market St. in Wilmington.

Jennifer Showell (International Relations/FLLT) is a Master of Arts candidate in International Affairs at American University's School of International Service. Jennifer also works as a Regional Specialist, South America and Mexico, for the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Washington, DC.

Alana K. Stops (Art History/Italian) will be receiving her M.A. in Architectural History from the University of Virginia in 2005.

Erica Streisfeld (Marketing) completed her M.A. in Advertising, in June 2003, at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. In November 2004, she started as the new Director of Communications at the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association in Harrisburg, PA.

Thirin Julie Tanpitukpongse (Psychology/Spanish Studies) is currently in the 1 year MBA Program at Drexel University and will graduate in June 2005.

Laura A. Vella (Biology) is currently in her third year of an M.D./Ph.D. program at the University of Pittsburgh.

Andrew D. Allerton (Chemical Engineering) is working at Johnson Matthey in King of Prussia, PA.

Andrea L. (Beaudoin) Anderson (Anthropology/History) got married in April of 2004 and is now working on her Masters in Anthropology at Binghamton University in New York.

Danielle M. (Larason) Baker (Family and Community Services) shares the news that she is now married.

Adam W. Corbett (Animal Science) is currently still at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary College.

Amy M. Cunningham (Philosophy/Criminal Justice) is currently working towards her J.D. at Villanova Law School which she will receive in 2006.

Colleen A. Delaney (Accounting) passed all four parts of the CPA exam in December and is currently working for Protiviti as an Internal Audit Consultant.

Amanda J. Eaton (French and Spanish Studies) is a Ph.D. candidate at Johns Hopkins University in Spanish Peninsular Literature with a Late 19th and Early 20th Century concentration. Under a full fellowship she is also able to teach a Spanish course each semester at Hopkins. She is expecting to complete the program in Spring 2008.

Nicholas J. Frankoski (Finance) is considering a career change. He is considering attending graduate school in 2006 or 2007 in order to obtain a masters in earth science, so he can become a high school teacher and coach. Nicholas is a distance runner and completed The Philadelphia Marathon, his first marathon, on November 21, 2004.

Sabrina Glaser (Psychology/Communication) is currently in her second year at Yale Law School. During Summer 2005, she will work for Ropes & Gray in their tax and health care departments in both New York and San Francisco.

Erin Henninger (Biology) is pursuing an MPH in Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University.

Jeanna M. Mastrocinque (Criminal Justice/History; M.A. Criminal Justice, University at Albany, 2004) is pursuing a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at the University at Albany.

Aileen M. McKernan (Exercise Science) applied to several Physical Therapy graduate schools after working full time in an orthopedic outpatient Physical Therapy clinic for 1 1/2 years. She was accepted to and enrolled in UD's DPT Program and will be starting this summer.

Amy Rubens (English) is currently working on a dual PhD in English and American Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She is also teaching W131, a required composition class. She recently taught a thematic composition class of her design that centered around contemporary autobiography.

Sarah Ruiz (Family and Community Services) is currently working on her Ph.D. in Gerontology at the University of Southern California.

Michael G. Savarese (Civil Engineering) is working with Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers on Long Island and living with UD friends in Astoria, NY.

Meghan A. Shaw (English) completed a one year fellowship with Green Corps and is now living in D.C. and working for environmental non-profit doing political and community organizing. She also went on a one month trip to Europe this past fall with UD alum Alex Klaessig ('04).

Bret M. Strogen (Environmental Engineering; M.S. Environmental Engineering, University of California-Berkeley, 2004) lived at the International House in Berkeley last year and over the summer visited his new friends in Asia (8 countries), New Zealand, and Australia. After returning from the trip, Bret began working as an Engineer for Weston Solutions, a large environmental consulting firm, in West Chester, PA.

Kristopher A. Ungvarsky (Chemical Engineering) is working for Merck & Co., Inc. as a New Products Planning and Management Analyst. He thought he'd "try to balance out the responses of all those alumni getting married" by announcing that he is recently single.

Kristin B. Veenema (Animal Science) is going to graduate school for her Masters in Human Nutrition and getting her R.D. degree at California State Polytechnic University.

Suzanne G. Venteau (Psychology) is in her first year at Northern Illinois University's MA/Doctoral Clincial Psychology Program.

Kenneth M. Wannemacher (Medical Technology) is now in his second year in a Ph.D. program in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UMDNJ.

Amee L. Woodard (Dietetics) completed a Dietetic Internship through UD in April 2004. She is now a Registered Dietitian employed with the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). She works at the Hudson State Service Center in Newark and the Public Health Clinic in Middletown, DE.

Jennifer M. Zosh (Psychology) is in a Ph.D. program in the Psychological and Brain Sciences Department at Johns Hopkins University. She is researching cognitive development, specifically looking at how language intereacts with memory in children.

Jennifer Carr (Animal Science) is currently in her first year of veterinary school at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Ryan J. Crawford (Finance/Economics; M.S. Finance, University of Florida, 2005) will be moving to Atlanta to work in consulting after his graduation in May 2005 from University of Florida.

Alex P. Desai (Account/Finance) is currently working as an IT Consultant for KPMG.

Laura Marie Evans (Psychology/Foreign Languages and Literature) is currently at the University of Maryland, College Park, pursuing a Masters of Public Health.

Gina M. Ewald (Wildlife Conservation) now works for the New Jersey Audubon Society.

Emily T. Fillman (Animal Science) is currently attending North Carolina University College of Veterinary Medicine.

William "Bill" E. Gamgort (Marketing) is attending the University of Maryland Law School in Baltimore.

Leah Gemgnani (Mathematics Education) currently teaches in the Central Bucks School District in their brand new high school.

Colleen M. Gendron (Chemical Engineering) is working for Pfizer in Groton, CT in the Pharmaceutical Research and Development department.

Julissa Gutierrez (International Relations; M.A. School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago) is currently pursuing a Masters at the University of Chicago on a community and urban leadership fellowship.

Allison B. Jones (History) is currently living in Japan, teaching English to junior high school students as a participant in the Japan English and Teaching (JET) Program. She plans to accept a deferred offer of admission to the University of York and earn an M.A. in Comparative Politics.

Emily E. Judson (Marketing) is working as a Marketing Analyst for a consulting firm dedicated to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Andrea L. Kalb (Environmental Science) works as a Researcher for Booz Allen Hamilton, a general consulting firm, in Philadelphia, PA.

John E. Kirkwood (Chemical Engineering) is a first year graduate student at Stanford University, getting his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.

Keith M. Kirkwood (Chemical Engineering) is a graduate student at the University of California Santa Barbara getting his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.

Lee M. Manoff (Finance/Operations Management) is now working as an Analsyt in the Operations department at Barclays Capital in North New Jersey.

Sarah A. McDowell (Anthropology) is currently attending UD for a Masters in Education-Exceptional Children and Youth and is also working at the Center for Disabilities Studies.

Therese F. McKinny-Wood (Political Science) finished sending out graduate school applications and is in the process of applying for Teach for America.

Alexis A. Mucha (History/Art History) is working on her Masters in History of Decorative Arts, Design and Culture at the Bard Graduate Center in New York City.

Jessie Elizabeth Cole Reeder (English) is taking time off from school and earning money as a server at TGIFriday's while looking forward to attending graduate school in another year.

Kenneth J. Rivera (Political Science Education) is still at UD getting his Masters in Education while working as a Hall Director.

Rachel Schultz (Operations Management/Marketing) is currently working as a Contracting Specialist for the Department of Defense at Fort Meade, MD.

Victoria Simoshina (German/Psychology) is involved in the Master of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literatures (German) Program at UD and will be starting a graduate study at UD in Fall 2004. She also announces her marriage to Donald A. Finney (UD '88) on March 27, 2004.
