Donald Dickson (Political Science),
an attorney for Parker & Parks, L.L.P, is running the Texas State
Troopers Association website as well as publishing a daily e-newspaper
for Association members.

"After 5 years of running an advertising agency for McCann-Erickson,
my business partner and I recently started our own marketing consulting

celebrated her 15-year anniversay with Charles River Labs, where she
works as a Technical Administrator.

Michael T. Poff (Civil Engineering)
and his wife, Danielle, had their first child, Mallory Rose, on April
4, 2001.
Lydia M. Kantor Whitney (English
Education) writes that she is "happily divorced and now
teaching 6th-grade English/Reading and loving it! I was able to teach
The Fellowship of the Rings and then take my students on a field
trip to see it [the movie]!"

Wilmington College, 1994) and her husband, Wayne, gave birth to a son,
Andrew Wayne. "He is now five and a half months and doing well
at 15 lbs, 27 in."
Vera P. Roquemore (Biological Sciences;
M.A., 1997, Ph.D., 2002, University of Maryland, Baltimore County) was
the 2002 recipient of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Dissertation
Fellowship Award.
Erik S. Rubinson (Biological Sciences;
M.D. Hahnemann University, 1994; Residency in Pediatrics 1994-1997 University
of Maryland; Fellow, American Academy of Pediatrics) was married to
Ellen Spector in 1997, and that same year began practicing pediatrics
in Montgomery County, Md. Their first child, Ian, was born June 22,
2000.
Lisa R. Daniel Sparks (Communication;
M.S. Towson University, 1995) was married to Erik Sparks in 1993, had
a daughter (Madison) in April 1999, and a son (Max) in March 2001.
Erik M. Sundell (English; M.A.
Literature, American University, 1991) recently celebrated his seventh
anniversary with his wife, Heather. They have two children, Sean (3)
and Patrick (4 mos.). Erik is also in his ninth year teaching college-prep
English.
Nikol M. Wollman Tews (Physical
Therapy; M.S. Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Hahnemann MCP, 2000) had
a son, Alex Matthew, on January 13, 2002.
Julie A. Walko (English/German)
recently took a position as a medical librarian and reports that she
joined a local fire department in August and will receive EMT certification
in April.

Mindy V. Proconio Buckley (Chemical
Engineering) and husband, Paul, had a baby girl on December 18, 2001;
they named her Lily.
Michelle L. Rosi Collins (Nursing)
and husband, Joe, announce the birth of their second child, Erin Adelle,
on March 1, 2002. "Her big brother Quinn, almost four, is proud
of his new role."
Marc B. Davis (Business Administration)
writes, " I moved to the Lone Star State and took a job at Reliant
Energy as a Senior Campaign Manager."
Gretchen A. Hertzog-Mahar (Spanish;
M.A. Spanish, Penn State, 1993; M.Ed. Wesley College, 1999) and husband,
David, had a daughter on July 4, 2001, and named her Alanna.
Betsy McCoach (M.A. Secondary Education,
Lehigh University; M.A. Education with a concentration in School Psychology,
University of Connecticut) is completing a Ph.D. in gifted education
and school psychology at the University of Connecticut. She received
a Spencer Doctoral Fellowship for the 2001-2002 academic year. She has
published and presented numerous papers on education and psychology.
Kelly L. Simpson Meyers (Elementary
Education; Graduate work with Instructional Technology) has a new baby
girl, Mackenzie Shea, and moved to Trenton Falls from the Princeton
area.
Krisula Gosdis Moyer and her husband,
Eric, recently moved to Southern California with children Trayton (8),
Sydney (6), and Anika (1). Eric is working for Passenger Network, a
small engineering firm, and Krisula is homeschooling the children. Both
are involved as musical youth workers at church.
Chris A. Seguin (Mathematics) reports,
"After graduating, Angela ('90 Psychology/Criminal Justice) and
I moved back to Newark, Del. to work for Dade Behring. Our oldest daughter,
Jordan, is about to turn five. Our youngest, Ellie, is two and a half
now."
Alexander M. Settles (Political
Science, 1992 and M.P.A. 1996, University of Delaware) was married to
Elena B. Shainyan in Moscow on July 27, 2002. They took their honeymoon
in Greece, after which they returned to Newark, Del., where Elena is
currently a Ph.D. student at the School of Urban Affairs and Public
Policy and Alexander works at the Institute for Public Administration.
Mark T. Steves (Engineering; M.S.
Business Administration, Embry-Riddle University) was promoted to the
rank of Major in the US Air Force.
Ingrid R. Strommen Ziegler (Early
Childhood/Special Education) has been married seven years to John E.
Ziegler (Chemical Engineering) as of May 2002. They have two girls,
Melissa (three and a half) and Jennifer (15 mos.)

Curtis Ebersold (M.S. Mechanical
Engineering, University of Washington, 2000) was married to Mareia Frost
in June 2000. Mareia is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Chemical
Engineering at Delaware and expects to graduate in 2004. Their first
child (a son) was born on February 13, 2002.
Lisa A. Minutola (Political Science/History;
J.D. George Mason University School of Law, 1995) married Mark Russo
on September 6, 1997. Their son, Ryan James, was born September 8, 2001.
Wendy L. Rise Rios (Chemical Engineering)
writes, "Our second daughter, Jenna Lynn Rios, was born on February
17, 2001. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 4 oz, and was 19 3/4" long.
My labor went a bit too fast, and I ended up delivering her myself at
home! We are waiting to celebrate her first birthday until this spring,
when my husband returns home after serving in Afghanistan as a pilot
in the Marine Corps. We will be moving to Monterey, Calif., in late
May 2002."
Karin E. Thomas (Biology; M.D.
Thomas Jefferson Medical College) reports that she was a flight surgeon
for three years, flying in an F-18 Hornet. She is currently in ophthalmology
residency.

School, 2002) will be graduating from law school in May 2002 and then
clerk for Judge P. Higginbotham of 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in Dallas,
Tex., starting in August.
Laurie F. Howard (Communications)
is currently a research analyst for Tribune Television.
Patti Zielinski Verbanas (English/Journalism;
M.A. English, Georgia State University) is the Managing Editor of Art
and Antiques magazine and married Rick Verbanas ('92 Communications).
Their son, Hayden, was born on June 15, 2001.
Stefanie C. Levine Wichansky (Accounting;
M.B.A. Columbus University, 1999) has a two-year-old boy, Jake, and
is expecting a new baby in July.

married and had his first child (a son) in 1999; he was then promoted
to Development Chemist at Ashland Specialty Chemical.
Joseph D. Thompson (English; Ph.D.
Yale University, 2001) is currently an Assistant Professor of English
and Afro-American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

Gabbi K. Conley Moore (Biology)
reports that her husband, Ken, is stationed at the Army's National Training
Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., and she is currently raising their son,
Jackson, who is one-and-a-half years old.
Cindy-Alice Robinson (French/Spanish
Education; M.A. French/Spanish Literature, University of Delaware, 1998)
writes, " I am a French and Spanish teacher at Unionville High
School in Chadds Ford, Pa. I've been teaching there for four years."

Marie Louise Fredericksen Howland
(Business Administration/Marketing; M.B.A. Marketing and Comp. Strategy,
University of Florida, 2001) married Nick Howland in August 2001 and
began working as Product Manager with AC Neilsen in January 2002. "All

Ian F. Janssen (Anthropology) lived
in Miami, Fla., for three years, but is now working as the Assistant
Archivist for the University of Delaware.
Katherine K. Weiner Kessler (Accounting)
married Andrew Kessler on November 4, 2000. They live in Plantation,
Fla., and Katherine is working as Accounting Manager at Ryder headquarters
in Miami.
Ted A. Kittila (International Relations;
J.D. University of Minnesota Law School, Fulbright Scholarship, 2000)
married Anne-Laure Peterschmitt of Paris, France, whom he met while
on study abroad. Ted is now working at Weil, Gotshal, & Manges,
a New York law firm.

Culinary Crts at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I.
Eric Morrison (English) was promoted

Mark C. Parker (Civil Engineering)
married Meghan Erhardt on May 15, 1999, received his professional engineering
license in 2000, was named Associate at Landmark Engineering in November
2001, and recently built a new home in Middletown, Del.

University of Notre Dame) says that he will be defending his Ph.D. in
the next two months, and will be moving with his wife, Stephanie, to
Aachen, Germany, for a one-year post-doctoral opportunity.

is set for May 24, 2003.

pursuing his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University,
and is in his third year of study.

married October 5, 2002, and is attending Pace University for his M.B.A.

Science) was married on August 12, 2001 to Yaron Engelstein of Rockaway,

just got a Physician Assistant job in Dermatology, located in Springfield,

degree in Electrical Engineering.
Danielle K. Cain (Biology/Chemistry;
D.V.M at NCSU, 2004) reports that she "went to Forida for triage
of confiscated Hong Kong turtles, which we triaged in Florida for American
'citizenship.'" Danielle also spent December of 2001 in Kingston,
Jamaica, for her veterinary externship.
Rebekah J. Crockett (Entomology;
M.S. Entomology, University of Arkansas, 2002) will be getting married
in August to Patrick Kent ('98). In September she will be studying vector
ecology in a Ph.D. program at Johns Hopkins, Bloomberg School of Public
Health.
Dan R. Driaes (Biochemistry) passed
the qualifying exam for a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in November 2001
and joined the lab of Dr. Alexandra Newton in UC San Diego's School
of Medicine, where he is working on the molecular biophysics of protein
kinase C.
Mary E. Heitzmann Focht (Finance)
was married to Jeffrey Focht in August 2001.
Philip E. Goldstein (Psychology;
M.A. Organizational Psychology, Teacher's College-Columbia University)
is joining the JET Program to teach English in Japan during the summer
of 2002.
Hannah R. Gurman (English/History)
writes that she is "currently working in a non-profit maternal
and child health organization in Philadelphia." She plans to attend
graduate school in Fall 2002 to study English Literature.
Nicholas J. Hilosky (International
Relations; J.D. Villanova School of Law, 2003) is currently in his second
year of law school. He worked last summer at a law firm in Singapore
and travelled through Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore,
Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Karen L. Baltz (English Education)
received "Best New Teacher of the Year" for River Hill High
School in Clarksville, Md., where she is teaching 11th-grade English.
Emily J. Burhans (BALS) is currently
working to obtain her Masters in Speech Language Pathology at MGH Institute
of Health Professions.
Dan E. Camenga (Landscape Horticulture)
is currently in the Longwood Graduate Program at UD, working toward
his Masters in Public Horticulture.
Kelly Chisholm (Certificate of
Archival Training, L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation,
2002) will be doing a six-week internship this summer "with various
studios and restoration facilities in Los Angeles as part of the Kodak
Fellowship I received for this school year." There is an article

Kurt Goetz (Geophysics) writes
that he is "still searching for work in the environmental field.
Any help would be appreciated!" He is also considering grad school.
Jordan Green (English/Geography)
is currently living in Boone, N.C., writing freelance for a local newspaper,
and waiting tables at a vegetarian restaurant. "I've applied to
teach English in Japan for next year, and after that I'm considering
the Peace Corps."
Craig A. Hanlon (Psychology) is
a first-year law student at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Amy L. Humfeld (Biology) is a first-year
medical student at George Washington University. "Everything is
going great and I think of UD often!"
Heidi B. Iglay (Animal Science)
is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Foods and Nutrition at Purdue University.
Julie S. Lachman (Environmental
Science) is working with a remediation company as an environmental scientist.
George T. Lynch (Biology/Spanish
minor) writes, "I am now attending Penn School of Dental Medicine.
Hopefully, one day I will be a Pediatric Dentist."
Antoinette A. McRae (Psychology)
is currently attending the University of Maryland School of Law and
expects to graduate in 2004.
Ben J. Mohr (Chemical Engineering)
is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Structural Engineering with an emphasis
in composite materials at Georgia Tech.
Domenico Montanaro (English/Journalism)
writes, "I won the Kelly Award by the New Jersey Press Association
for best first-year journalist in N.J., for newspapers with over 60,000
circulation. I was hired June 4, 2001 by the Asbury Park Press, where
I was promoted from news reporter to Sports Coordinator for the Reporter
sections of the Press."
Joy L. Leiman Morin (Animal Science/
Biotechnology) was married to David Morin (Chemical Engineering, 2000)
on January 6, 2002.
Karilyn C. Puccio (Biology) is
currently enrolled at SUNY Albany, obtaining a Masters in Public Health.
Mike F. Puchtler (Mechanical Engineering/Math
minor) is living in Philadelphia, working for Accenture.
Jill F. Reilly (English/French)
is in her second semester of grad school at the University of Maryland,
College Park. She is in the dual Masters Library Science/History Program.
"This semester I am working part-time at the National Archives
in the reference library as a library technician."
Jennifer A. Rutan (Biology) is
currently in her first year of graduate school, where she is pursuing
a Ph.D. in Immunology. She has also received an Honorable Mention from
the National Science Foundation for a graduate fellowship "with
at least 6 past/present UHP members."
Joe R. Wolcott (Spanish Studies/Anthropology/History)
is going to law school, "destination unknown."
Michael A. Zunick (Biology Education)
is a biology teacher at Glasgow High School in Newark, Del.
